Meet the CRP Director
Wood Marchant comes to the College of Charleston from the
Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where he has
been a Clinical Instructor at the Center for Drug and Alcohol
Programs (CDAP) since May of 2013.
A 1989 graduate of The College of Charleston (BA in
English), Wood completed his Masters in Social Work at the
University of South Carolina in 2004. Following graduate school,
Wood worked at MUSC’s Division of Infectious Disease for five
years where under their Ryan White Grant he helped connect
patients with HIV and AIDS to community services and medication
assistance.
In the fall of 2010, he began work at the Charleston Center as a
Clinical Counselor in the Transitional Care Unit inpatient alcohol
and drug rehabilitation program.
Transitioning from Charleston Center to CDAP in the spring of 2013,
Wood has continued to work in alcohol and drug rehabilitation in the
Intensive Outpatient Program and as an individual therapist. Sober for 20 years, Wood is married to Dr. Laura Lee Kinney and they have twins, Will and Anna Liles, who are in sixth grade.
